Our enterprise idea is the sale of home-made doughnuts with different flavoured glazes. We knew that we wanted our enterprise to be in the food/drinks category. Our first idea was sweet bags, but then we found out another Transition Year group were already doing this. Then we considered the idea of pancakes but that didn’t work out either. Our last option was “Doughnut Delights” and we have been selling them to the staff and students in our school over the past few weeks.

Ingredients are the main cost involved in our enterprise.
The following information details the break-down of some our ingredient’s costs on a daily basis:

- buttermilk €1

- butter €2.99
- vanilla extract €3.90
- milk €1.05
- golden syrup €2.55
- chocolate chips €0.69
- icing sugar €0.90c
Target Market: We hope to sell our product to our whole school population: teachers, SNAs, students etc.
Channel of Distribution: Our products channel of distribution is producer to consumer.
Available for sale: The project is available for sale on Wednesdays and Thursdays in our school.
Payment: Customers will be able to pay with cash.
