CrestGear is a TY enterprise in which we sell custom crested GAA Gearbags
Our initial crested bags will be Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown and Kilbar GAA, branded by KCS.
High quality gearbag will be 60x30x30cm with a 55 litre capacity.
Branded Gear Bags
An introduction to our enterprise.
Our teams enterprise project this year was a custom local crested sports bag with two designs. We used two local GAA logos and team names along with the clubs colours to make each bag aesthetically pleasing.
Where did the idea for your project come from?
Our group's idea came from us as a team, having trouble finding a designed gear bag for under 40 euro. With this in mind, we were set on selling affordable gear bags using local designs.
We knew then that we wanted to produce something that would last the test of time as well as having a utilitarian design.
After brainstorming potential teams for the design of these bags, we sent a survey out to gather information in order to identify what our target market would like. The results showed that majority of customers would purchase either a Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown gearbag or a Kilbar GAA branded bag.
Who is involved in your project?
CrestGear was created by a group of 3. This being Jack Keogh, Callum Hoare and Theo Beatty. The group was first created at the start of the enterprise project when we decided the groups we would be in for the duration of this project.
When deciding we realised each of our strengths and possible weaknesses - such as how Jack can come up with appropriate designs for the logo or any illustration the team needs. Theo came up with designs for the bag and Callum was in contact with the company and teams for the bags.
What were your initial costs?
To start our business we all were prepared to invest into the company if needed - though this never materialised. This allowed us to buy the supply of bags we needed to get the business up and running. We initially bought 20 branded gear bags from KCSports which cost us €512 which was paid after selling 14 bags. This worked out as 26 euro per bag. We also spent 50 euro to have a logo made higher quality for our Kilbar bags.
Who do you hope to sell to?
We hope to sell our product to a wide ranged target market throughout the school. Our bags can be used by someone of any age. We have made sales to adults who wanted a bag from the local team area. We picked this product for a wide range of reasons, one being the fact that we have a wide market we can sell to. Around the Roscommon area there is a lot of sport and we picked Kilbar as there are many players in that club.
When will the project will be ready after an order?
Once someone has ordered and paid in full for a bag, they will receive there order immediately as we have a large stock of bags ready for sale at any given time.
When will your product be available for sale?
Our product launched in late November of 2024 and since then we have been selling multiple bags. Our product is readily available for sale once your order is placed.
Where can you purchase the product?
Since the launch of our product, it can be bought outside the school hall during lunch on most days of the school week. Alternatively, our bags can be bought through contacting us on our Instagram.
