Where we got our idea from?

We got the idea to make body scrubs when I (Olivia) was using my own homemade coffee body scrub and it was working well so Nicolas got the idea to do scrubs for our enterprise. After we got the idea then we came up with different types of scrubs and researched the properties of the ingredients and what worked well. We got a list of all the ingredients we will use and started testing them. We thought of what we would put them into and decided to go with 100% recyclable plastic jars and we also came up with different unique names for each scrub.

Who our target audience?

Our target audience is anybody of any age but specifically towards those who have rough or flaky skin that want to have softer, smoother skin. We also have a body scrub which helps those of which use fake tan and want a product that helps to remove it.

What market research did we carry out?

For our market research, we did a Google form and we asked questions like “do you suffer with dry or flaky skin?” which really helps us understand our audience and which scrubs help with these things. We also asked things like which scrub interests them the most and our lemon scrub and coffee scrub are our most popular. Only a couple people suffer with skin issues and a load of people said they would buy our body scrubs as a Christmas gift.

Who are our competitors?

We identified our competitors by going into shops like SuperValu and going to the hygiene section and checking how much different brands sell their body scrubs for and their ingredient lists and comparing to ours and what we can take advantage of. We also researched different body scrubs and their ingredients lists online and found our USP.

When it will be available for sale?

They will be available for sale every Tuesday outside the main hall during lunchtime in the school

What is our USP?

Our USP (unique selling point) is that we use 100% natural ingredients and we craft our body scrubs in our own kitchens carefully preparing each scrub and making them all equally. We also use 100% recyclable 6 oz jars for our scrubs meaning after you finish the jar you can use the jar for other things and/or recycle them.

What were they cost involved?

We researched our costs and what quality of ingredients we needed and would be most suitable for the best product at a good price whilst also researching local competitors and what they have to offer.

We also searched everywhere to use if anyone has our name Scrub ‘N’ Smile.

We took the risk of investing lots of money into jars and ingredients and not using posters and relying on our social media.

Our problem was the delivery of our jars which stressed us out with time and also was hard to calculate our ingredient usage.

How much is Jar?

Each jar is 4 euro.

Where it will be available for sale?

Our product will be available in school and online.

To promote our business inside and outside of school we used social media. We used instagram to update people when we are selling and how much for. We also have a tik tok.

Is our product sustainability?

We use 100% recyclable jars and we use organic ingredients for best and safest use.

Personal Development

We worked together by splitting our costs together and making our scrubs together in our kitchens. We also share social media accounts and sell our products together.

We overcame difficulties by working together and helping each other out when we needed it and also split ordering the jars in bulk.

We learned how stressful it is to run a business and what goes into making a successful business and also how working together makes it a lot easier.

We do not yet have a plan for the future but will discuss it soon.

The best advice given to us was to work together and not let one person follow a different path.

The biggest lesson we learned was to never underestimate how tough it is to run a business and keep it going.
