My student enterprise is a "Wellystand". It is a utility and storage piece that is used for airing out and storing wellington boots while keeping them out of the way.
The Wellystand is made up of three different components which are entirely made from mild steel, These components consist of the base plate which is a 8mm thick plate and is 400mm x 200mm with an engraving embedded in the centre of the plate. Secondly there are the steel bars which have the dimensions of 600mm x 16mm. These bars are welded onto the base piece. As there are 8 bars in total it allows the stand to hold up to 4 pairs of wellies at once. Lastly the are the steel spheres which are 25mm in diameter they are welded to the tip of the bars to make a place for the welly to sit comfortably on.

About the project
The enterprise is a welly-boot stand made from mild steel. It consists of three separate pieces all made from mild steel, These pieces consist of the base piece, steel bars and steel spheres. It is used to store and dry wellies. It is able to store and hold up to four pairs of wellingtons at once. The product is mainly used for keeping wellies out of the way while airing them out.
Where did the idea come from?
I had come up with the idea of the Wellystand when I was faced with the problem of storing and cleaning my wellingtons while keeping them out of the way all at the same time, This problem is quite commonly found with obstacles such as firewood, turf and other things such as equipment all being stored in the same space. With all of this, wellies can sometimes be misplaced and or get into a awkward place to get, I also didn’t want to hide them away in a cabinet as they may be moved or misplaced during cleaning.

I was a sole trader for the entirety of this enterprise project.
What were the costs
The costs of the enterprise came to a total of €124.50
Target Market
The target market of my enterprise was people in the agricultural sector and anyone else where wellies may be required for work.
